I go to BLC in April, but I&#39;m wanting to know if any 74D have any advice on CBRN schools I should take and steps I should take for promotion points and professional development. Do any 74Ds have any pointers for promotion? 2016-03-07T20:55:33-05:00 SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member 1361974 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;ve set a goal for myself by the end of the year, I&#39;m trying to get promoted. Other then that be the best at your job and compete in boards for the knowledge and if you win awards. I know they are looking at that more closely than before. Under the ACT. Print out the 74D career map. It answers all your question on schools. But look where you are compared to where you want to go. Fight for those ASI producing courses. Keep in mind units look at your longevity within the unit when it comes to ASI schools. Being your in a chemical unit it should be fairly easy. You can get promoted without ASIs. I made 5 and 6 within 6 months after completing the board. Still chasing that dream of getting inside a chemical unit. Take advantage of some others my not want. Walk on to the armorers course if possible. Look into NCI. They are a military accreditination institute that converts all your training into college credit. A lot don't do it because it's supposedly expensive. If you really want it then it's not a problem. Like the others mention raise your PT and weapons score. Lastly if your in your PCS window. Volunteer for an airborne assignment.
