Do any of my Vietnam War friends out there have any pictures from Vietnam?

I need some help from you Vietnam War Vets. I am teaching my 8th graders an eighteen week unit on several books about the Vietnam War. I would appreciate any pictures you could post here. If you could write comments about the pictures and your impressions of the people, customs, and country, I would really appreciate it. Thank you all!

Here's my contribution. I didn't take as many photos in Vietnam as I wish I had. (There were other things more pressing than taking snapshots) However, as other Vietnam Vets found my blog, they contributed some of theirs. My blog also has a lot of material, none of it base on the false news stories written by journalists with an ideological narrative to push. Sadly, most of the "history" being taught in schools these days come from that narrative. SGT David Reynolds -unfortunately I have no photos of my time in Vietnam 1966-67 all I have are the indelible memories in my mind of that place and time but I think you are doing a great thing in bringing to these young people what that time period was like ,I would be happy to relate in print any information that could be useful to you.

Sounds like it's going to be a very informative class, thank you for teaching the youth about our history. That we lived through, I wasn't in 'Nam too young, but was trained by DI's that had served there, you learned more from them in one week than from any other DI's.

Hi David, I gave a large box of photographs I had of Vietnam to one of my children but I had these that may be of interest that are in the book I wrote for my children (Great Adventures From My Life) (on amazon.com).
In the photo on the left is a very large tree we had to remove at the entrance to a bridge we were building. The Vietnamese people worshiped trees because they believed their ancestors lived in them so they would not cut them down. I learned this after we removed the tree. The tree was so huge we could not cut it down. We had to use explosives to blow it down one part at a time. However, the people immediately swarmed around to pick up aal the wood because that was of great value to them.
The next two photos are of heavy equipment that ran over land mines the Viet Cong planted where we were working. The last one was us trying to survive the 120+ degree heat in the summer.
We did not speak much to the adults but the children were very friendly and would always run out to us to talk when we passed. I made friends with several children.

Just happen to have one in my cell gallery. From Pleiku in 1967 or 1968, not sure exactly, but it was just after the Looches got in country, but before Tet in '68. I was sitting on the floor of a OH-6A holding the minigun I was preparing to mount.
