My old civilian boss was a tanker and said they were fierce.

I can't vouch for the authenticity. The ROK soldiers skinned VC alive and hung them in the trees for revenge. That is pretty chilling.

I was a clandestine Army operative in Na Trang in 1970. I can tell you first hand that our South Korean allies were indeed fierce fighters. I can also testify that their kim chi was more fierce than Vietnamese nouc man. The stories I have about the Koreans are not appropriate to this medium.
