<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A badge number is the serial number on a piece of equipment, not a police identification number. It's like asking if your S1 gets a printer numberSFC Private RallyPoint MemberWed, 17 Feb 2021 01:58:56 -05002021-02-17T01:58:56-05:00Response by SPC William Carter made Feb 17 at 2021 5:53 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>All of the badges in AF Security Forces had badge number. Mine was K2554. We often remarked that a true SP would know his badge number, and the grossly gung ho among us would probably try to work it into a post briefing, like the serial number on their service weapon.<br /><br />Is was just a randomly generated number imprinted at the bottom of the shield, and never meant anything. I'm certain I wasn't the only K2554. Didn't stop me from knowing it, though.SSgt Private RallyPoint MemberWed, 17 Feb 2021 10:13:21 -05002021-02-17T10:13:21-05:00Response by SGT Michael Rigney made Feb 17 at 2021 10:52 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No. Back when the MP's routinely wore the MP Badge, they had a serial number for accountability; but it was not a "badge number" for identification like some civilian PD's do.SSG Bill McCoyWed, 17 Feb 2021 16:58:10 -05002021-02-17T16:58:10-05:00Response by CPT Tim McCune made Feb 17 at 2021 5:04 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Most civilian police departments don't give badge numbers. A few like LAPD, NYC, and MPD (Metropolitan Police Department... the DC police) use them, but many don't. They have credential numbers on their IDs, so a lot like out DOD ID numbers.SGT Chester BeedleThu, 18 Feb 2021 00:02:22 -05002021-02-18T00:02:22-05:00Response by SSgt Derrick Whitefield made Feb 18 at 2021 11:34 AM
