Do CIF Items Count Towards My 4 Personal Bags When PCSing to Korea?

I'm flying to Korea on Tuesday and trying to finish packing, but CIF at Fort Campbell wouldn't let me to turn in all my CIF issue, so now I'm stuck with at least 2 bags which are all military issue, and only have 4 personal bags which I am allowed to take without having to pay out of pocket for additional bags. So I was wondering if CIF items count towards that baggage limit.

Check with your COC there should be a shipment made that includes Manuals and uniform items including CIF that ships separate of what you take on the fight.

Yess theyvdo. That is why you get 4 bags. Normal travel is one oversees, with a cost for others. Your orders give the Airline permission to charge the government and not you. Travel safe. Thank you for your service.

My apologies for my earlier note, as it was not clear. You should have no CIF, you should have your initial issue. Other than that my comment remains the same. Safe travels.

You have accompanied baggage and unaccompanied baggage. If I remember correcectly your accompanies baggage is up to like 500 pounds....

First things first... What does the little sheet of paper caller ORDERS say? Read those. You can always take a photo and show just the authorized area by editing the +/- edging and post it here since your asking an open ended question. Usually, unless things have changed and you are on TDY, you don’t travel with CIF! You get issued/turn-in at each assignment for the unit you are assigned beyond your innitial issue, or what you might have purchased beyond on your own as back-up, which most of us careerist did or or have done in our past along the way. If you still have CIF from your unit and were permitted to clear or were signed-off, you might keep the equipment and copies, as you might get charged down the road for those items as in a NPD!
Depending on which airline you are flying, you can call them, or simply look on their website under the Military section (traveling with orders).
In the future, check with Travel when you get your Orders and don’t wait the weekend before you leave!

Your remaining CIF should hv been shipped with your unaccompanied baggage. You’re going to get charge for the extra baggage, however, keep the receipt and you’ll get re-imbursed when you settle your travel.... Safe travels...

You may still be able to arrange a second pick up from transportation so that you will not need to hand carry your bags of CIF.

In the future, always schedule CIF before transportation picks up your stuff so you don't end up in this situation again.
Also, next time you are getting ready to turn in CIF before PCSing, you can call CIF and ask them to explain how to understand your clothing record. Several columns are marked Yes or No. They will tell you what items must be turned in before you PCS/ETS.
