However, some are on permanent profile so that modifies events and once they hit 55 the alternate aerobic event kicks in. Overall, though yes even at the Pentagon they were taking their PT tests and you would see them in the gym.Response by CPT Mark Gonzalez made Aug 23 at 2017 11:24 PM2017-08-23T23:24:05-04:002017-08-23T23:24:05-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member2862530<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>General Officer's all have a long history of stellar PT performance, (PT being a significant reason they made it to that level) they are not required to take the standard PT test due to age, but almost all of them do. Most of them can outrun half of the Soldier's in their units.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 24 at 2017 9:26 AM2017-08-24T09:26:40-04:002017-08-24T09:26:40-04:00MG Stephen Hogan2865247<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes. Three event man. I did lose a few points on the run this year, down to 277 or so, but normally hover around 285-290. Before you all become terribly impressed, these days in my age group the run is graded with a calendar instead of a stop watch. I'll also tell you that the E-5 that graded me this last time didn't count all of my pushups- as I tend to get in a hurry and sometimes and not come all the way up. <br /><br />My BGs take it as well, the oldest of the bunch rides the bike after two knee replacements, but the remainder are three event men, Army and Air. My two air Generals are in incredible shape. <br /><br />I am surprised, somewhat....maybe, that this question exists; because all I know and serve with really get that old concept of not to expect anything out of the guys that we aren't willing to do ourselves. The APFT is "free chicken" leadership wise to get out with the guys and mutually suffer, and we look forward to it. I think I did four last year and the OPAT, which truthfully was a smoker.Response by MG Stephen Hogan made Aug 25 at 2017 5:44 AM2017-08-25T05:44:29-04:002017-08-25T05:44:29-04:001LT Private RallyPoint Member2871189<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think the chances of an O-9 or O-10 is very unlikely since they could very well be over 60, and therefore exempt from the APFT.Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 27 at 2017 1:28 PM2017-08-27T13:28:34-04:002017-08-27T13:28:34-04:00BG BG Michael Warmack2883867<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>They should and do.
