Do I have to come back from PTDY to sign out for terminal leave?

I’m taking 20 days of ptdy (March 11-March 30) and Terminal leave from March 31-April 29th. I was told by my chain of command that I have to come back on the 30th to sign out for Terminal leave. Is this true? I was under the impression that I don’t have to come back.

P.S My final out date is April 29th

They should put it all on the same leave form and you wouldn't need to come back.
If you take it before final out it would be on another leave form and you would come back to final out.

I just retired a few months ago and all my leave was on the same leave form. The PTDY dates were highlighted on the form nonetheless it was all on one leave form. I signed out once.

When I got out I had a month of leave on the books. Had the choice of either stay on base till EoS and get paid for those days or take them and just dont come back. I signed my EoS packet and took leave with only having to check into the local reserve officer to do the passive reserve of 2 years that was required. So if the other branches are like the Corps back in p3 no you shhould not have to go back.

Answers on this site do not replace your leadership. Before you decide that you do not need to go back, you better take this up with your chain of command.

I worked on terminal leave, and on the day of retirement popped in on a Sunday to pick up retirement orders from SDNCO. Signed the duty log book with "CWO3 McIntosh now ashore". Your command knows best would be my advice.

PFC, you are supposed to Final Out the kast day on Active Duty, then the next day starts your leave. Who exactly is telling you you need to come back, sign back in and final out?
This is not how this works. Hope your reading all these comments by these senior leaders. Great points!!
Your PTDY, amd Leave should be on one DA31. Period.
On your last day, you final out with finance, then final out at MPD for stamp , etc
At midnight go sign out, and say thank you Army for everything, and I did my best, head up high troop.
Please take a copy of your DA31 when you go sign out, just for your record, and no you don't have to cone back and sign in. Your Unit, Finance, etx know you have transitioned from the Army to Civilian life!!
Does this make sense!
Note: On my PTDY and Terminal Leave, I didnt even sign out. lol
I had a my own copy and signed myself out as a Retiree.

Your final out date should be March 10th, not March 29th. How is this possible? How does some Separation from the Army go on Transition Leave then come back to final out and then sign out. I am confused.
