Separation pay doesn&#39;t require you to still be in. The whole point is that you are being separated. You need to talk to your finance folks and admin folks to get a better grasp of everything happening. Now is the time to ask questions to those in the system<br /> <a target="_blank" href="https://militarypay.defense.gov/Benefits/Separation-Pay/">https://militarypay.defense.gov/Benefits/Separation-Pay/</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/687/248/qrc/data"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://militarypay.defense.gov/Benefits/Separation-Pay/"> Separation Pay</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">Military Pay and Benefits Website sponsored by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Response by SSgt Christophe Murphy made Jan 26 at 2022 3:27 PM 2022-01-26T15:27:47-05:00 2022-01-26T15:27:47-05:00 MSG Private RallyPoint Member 7497884 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If your ETS is at the 8 yr mark when you are processed for separation due to RCP, you should not have to be required to do Reserves. However, hit up SFC Jason Boyd. He can provide the best information. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.rallypoint.com/profiles/148812-79s-career-counselor-usaraf-hq-usaraf-setaf">https://www.rallypoint.com/profiles/148812-79s-career-counselor-usaraf-hq-usaraf-setaf</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/687/259/qrc/data"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://www.rallypoint.com/profiles/148812-79s-career-counselor-usaraf-hq-usaraf-setaf">SFC, Retention Operations NCO - Army | RallyPoint</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description"></p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 26 at 2022 4:21 PM 2022-01-26T16:21:19-05:00 2022-01-26T16:21:19-05:00 SGM Bill Frazer 7498377 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No, it will be just like ETS. You get orders, and while clearing Finance- you get your briefing and told what pay and when it will come. All done at your current station Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Jan 26 at 2022 10:08 PM 2022-01-26T22:08:43-05:00 2022-01-26T22:08:43-05:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 7503836 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you are eligible for Separation pay, you must agree to three years in the Reserve Component. Those can be met with an IRR contract.<br /><br />But I should point out that the RCP for a promotable SPC is 10 years, not eight. You also have to extend to within 30 days of your RCP, and not be flagged at the time of your separation.
