Do i have to shave for meps even if i have a current permanent shaving profile?

Going to MEPS this weekend as prior service switching to active duty with a current shaving profile, recruiters are telling me i have to shave clean for meps. Is this even a regulation? i already have my profile and even get VA Comp for my face to prove so, they still want me to shave. What should i do ?

Profiles are for service members, approved by Commanders. As you are currently a FORMER service member, you do not have a Commander to approve a profile, so, no, you do NOT have a profile. Service members have profiles. You are a civilian. As a civilian, AR 670-1 does not apply to you, so you can wear a Halloween costume if you'd like.

Im Still in the Army as National Guard but im considered Prior Service, i never got out im just switching over to clear the confusion.

I honesty don’t think any of the providers at MEPS are going to care if you’re clean shaven or not. If you have a profile and it’s documented you’re fine anyways. If any of the active duty personnel say anything about being unshaven (and they won’t if you aren’t in uniform and there is no reason to be in uniform at MEPS just like you don’t wear your uniform to a PHA in the guard or reserves I don’t think anyone will even give you a second look).

Nope. It is just like the first time you ever went to MEPS. You do not have to shave, have a hair cut etc. You simply have to show up, follow their little checklist of what not to bring and/or do and follow orders. That is all.

If you have a profile from a legitimate Doctor then you make sure that you have that and stick to it and bring it with you.

You are a civilian until you sign a contract and swear in again. You need a copy of the profile so that you are not asked to shave after you sign.

Recruiters maybe hiding your profile ... check your paperwork for easier enlistment.
You do know you can be charged with violating your profile, as you are still in.
