Do i need a leave pass to drive past the 250 mile radius?

I am looking to buy something in a different state but it will be past the 250 miles, do i need to submit a leave pack or just a mile extension pass. this will be on a weekend so on my free time and on a few days short notice if i find the right vehicle.

Those requirements are set by the unit/Post. Ft Bragg had a 200 mile limit, due to deployment concerns.

Damn, I drove home on weekends sometimes from Lejeune to my home north of Philly. It was worth it to drink beers with my buddies on a Sat night, the drive at that age wasn’t a problem. One time we ended up at a party in Bennington Vt, drunk and slept in the car on the Ny Thruway, woke up and drove back to base that Sunday morning. Didn’t know that was against the rules, it might have been interesting talking to Gunny and explaining to him I was drunk in Vt and I may be a bit late. He would have noted it I’m sure so I wouldn’t be UA, but I’d guess shit details to his satisfaction. Loved Gunny, and he was the real shit, and you never wanted to disappoint or really piss him off. Being a peace time military he would have been reasonably forgiving for a silly fuck up like that, I’d pay of course, but it would have been done right there between us.
