Do I need to be 28 years old or younger upon graduating U.S. Navy Seal Training?

So, that's one thing I'm curious about. I'm currently 26 years old, I stepped away from Enlistment for awhile for several months. Several months back I did want to enlist, but for the wrong reasons. Over the last several months I re-evaluated my mindset and still want to enlist, but for the right reasons this time.

I have wondered that though, when U.S. Navy Seal tryout requirements say that tryout candidates need to be 28 years old or younger does that mean I need to be 28 years old upon trying out or 28 years old or younger prior to graduation of U.S. Navy Seal Training graduation??

I hope I can find the right answer. I know I hope to be able to complete my dream of becoming a U.S. Navy Seal. That's a once in a lifetime experience that I'd love to be a part of.

I hope I have what it takes. Several months back I didn't have the right mindset, but I do now, I still want to focus on becoming a U.S. Navy Seal tryouts, after basic training of course.

I am not sure what research you have conducted. Military basic straight to Navy Seal isn't going to happen. There are foundational requirments that provide the platform for an individual to be prepared to perform in any special ops role.

See a recruiter, and get selected for service and see where this goes. I assure you that every young man watching TV shows and movies at one time wanted to be a Seal.

You never know you may be the first.

It is my impression becoming any sort of Special Forces is like the pathway in life to becoming an Astronaut. It's not the first thing one applies for without having established an impressive history of skills and achievements to even be allowed to submit an application.

That said, at 26, one still has ample opportunity to do cool things in life that might not be door kicking Navy Seal stuff.

A pathway to Admiral has not been regulatorily closed.

You mention only a few months ago you didn't have the mindset to be a SEAL and now you do.

I caution you, it is the sole job of the SEAL instructors to get you back to that old mind set and ring that bell.
