However, my husband and I decided it’s best for me to re-enlist into the army. My question is, would I have to redo basic training??Do I need to redo basic training?2019-12-05T23:35:47-05:00PFC Daisy Camacho5312621<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I got out of the army less than 2 years ago due to pregnancy and it was the best choice at the time. Most likely not if within 4-5 years. But your best best is to talk with a recruiter for the latest and greatest. Be aware that as a prior service you fall under USAREC’s Business Rules. Meaning you get what the Army needs you. Priority is your current MOS but not always. <br /><br />Best of lucks on your future endeavors !Response by MAJ Javier Rivera made Dec 5 at 2019 11:44 PM2019-12-05T23:44:49-05:002019-12-05T23:44:49-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5312666<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Expect itResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 5 at 2019 11:53 PM2019-12-05T23:53:57-05:002019-12-05T23:53:57-05:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member5312680<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>After pregnancy, and being out longer than you were in...I would suggest it.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 6 at 2019 12:03 AM2019-12-06T00:03:53-05:002019-12-06T00:03:53-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member5313300<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was told by my recruiter that if you had a break greater than 3 years you’ll have to go through again. No it's only 3 max and if your over that 3 yrs, you have to re-take basic again according to Army Business Rules. It recently changed I was told. It use to be 5 yrs, now it's 3 yrs. Disappointing cuz I was gonna re-enlist until hearing that.Response by SPC Mr E made Dec 13 at 2019 7:04 PM2019-12-13T19:04:06-05:002019-12-13T19:04:06-05:00MSgt Private RallyPoint Member6907323<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you completed basic, then most likely you will not have to repeat it. I don't think there is time limit. If you decide to go to a different service then you might. I did navy basic,go out and then decided to go army, had to do army basic. Switched to air force and did not have to do basic again. But did have to go to school for the job I chose. Good luck.Response by MSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 16 at 2021 5:55 PM2021-04-16T17:55:05-04:002021-04-16T17:55:05-04:002019-12-05T23:35:47-05:00
