Do I qualify for a Dity move on Title 10 orders?

Will the Army pay for my move to be closer to my unit when I go on Title 10 orders? I am currently 1 hour 20 Minutes from my unit. I am looking to move my family closer to the unit so I can be available at all times.

Without any other information, you should be authorized a move unless you are in a TDY status during the orders.

I am going to assume you are in the reserves. So unless you can transfer to a closer unit to your home you would have to go to the military one source website and see what programs are available to you for assistance for the move. Also talk with your readiness NCO they may be able to point you in the direction for a better answer. I hope this has given you a start point and I wish you the best of luck.

No, a DTY move is a type of PCS. Unless your unit is PCSing you to another duty location you are not authorized to be paid to move. What you are talking about is called a local move. Local moves are unit funded. The only time you're going to see a unit fund a local move is when it benefits the unit, or they have received an exception from very high up the chain because the Soldier is in a dangerous living situation

If your doing 180 plus you should get PCS orders if you reside outside the local area. If it’s less than 180 days than there is no PCS, they should be giving you TDY orders with perdiem. This is where you can opt to rent in the local area instead of a hotel, assuming you can work that out with your unit. Less than 180 you will not get PCS orders and would have to find a temporary accommodation. Here is the risk, if you get sent forward on another TDY, you would have to vacate where you are at unless your unit authorizes dual lodging which I would not expect ever. I mention this in case you do rent an apartment, get a military break clause.

You don't say how long this activation is for, and whether or not it is considered a PCS move or TDY. The usual Title 10 orders are mobilization in support of whatever. That doesn't fall under either PC or TDY. If it's mobilization orders to support a mission, you will most likely not be authorized movement of household goods, as you are not doing a long term TDY or a PCS. If no authorization to ship HHG, then no, the Army will not pay for any move. Once you have your orders, contact the transportation office at Ft. Bragg. They can give you guidance. Just make sure you clearly and completely explain the type of orders you are on.

Doesn’t really seem that you would rate a move with this not being PCS or anything like that but you could always contact TMO and verify but I doubt it will rate
