Do I qualify for the OSR (Overseas Service Ribbon) being deployed to Egypt for the MFO mission?

Was you there for the year with 1SB or with a BN for the 6 month tour? When I was there in the early 90's for the 6 month tour with 82nd ABD DIV, we did not get an OSR. But I believe the one year tour should.

I am having an issue with qualifying for one in kuwait.

Regulation states that you awarded one for successful completion of an overseas tour according to 614-30.

And in that regulation it states that to get a completed tour, you have to be in your country for a certain amount of days/months.

My S1 told me the criteria was at least 10 months for the one year tour in Korea and I was told one of my tours (7 months) in Iraq did not qualify.
The reg states 'overseas tour completion' and I guess the nature of the tour would dictate the duration.

Were you a US INF BATT that did a six month rotation or were you 1st Spt Bn COSCOM ,back in 1990/91 only the 1st SDpt Bn got them as we did one year deployment,the only ribbon the US Inf Batt got was a MFO ribbon

Yes you do. I got mine when I deployed to the MFO in 2012.

"Back in the day", no, you only got the MFO ribbon because it was a six month deployment and did not meet the criteria for an overseas tour. However, when I did mine I had a buddy who was on his second MFO deployment, which supposedly qualified him for an OSR. If it is longer now, then perhaps.

3: IAW AR 614-30, Soldiers who serve a minimum of 11 cumulative months (within a 24 month period) or 9 continuous months in a TCS/TDY status may receive overseas tour credit for a completed short tour.

No. you get a service star for every 6 months, that is you are assigned to the 1st Support Battalion.
