SGT Private RallyPoint Member 3589479

Wondering if I get an OSR.

My unit just got back from a deployment to Qatar. Our orders said that we couldn't be there longer than 270 days, or 9 months. I came back a little earlier than everyone else because my LTC wanted me to be ADVON along with my CH to get things ready for the returning unit (which is very common in my MOS). I just checked my ERB a few days ago and my S1 credited with me with a completed tour, but didn't award me a OSR. I asked about it and they said that it's because I didn't meet the required days overseas. After reading the regulation multiple times, showing it to my CO, PSG, and even other soldiers in S1, no one can understand where they're getting a "days" requirement from for our location. All the regulation talks about with a standard overseas tour is that to receive the ribbon you need to have completed a "normal tour". After presenting them with this information they really couldn't give me an answer as to why I'm not getting it, and said they'd get back to me.

I'm wondering if any of you have a better reasoning or am I just getting screwed over? Do I still get an Overseas Service Ribbon, even though I came back ADVON? 2018-04-30T15:01:22-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 3589479

Wondering if I get an OSR.

My unit just got back from a deployment to Qatar. If you did a complete tour you should get an OSR. I had R&R to Qatar during my second deployment to Iraq must be noooice! You should qualify for a OSR as long as you were deployed overseas for 90 days consecutive. The specifics are based on your length. Thank you for your service. Have you reviewed AR614-30 and the table relating to yours? Anyway dig a little deeper to ensure you get what you deserve. At a minimum your unit needs to site the policy or reg stating you did not earn one, not you having to prove you did. I've learned that just because it's someone's job doesn't mean they are good or knowledgeable at it.
