I have gotten the answer I needed. The original title was edited and it changed the context of the post a bit. I knew I "could" wear it because I earned it and it is currently on my ERB. The question really was: Do I have to wear it? But that question has been answered as well, at least in regards to the DA photo. Despite our best efforts, our records are not always up to date or may not match between official military personnel files, awards orders, and record briefs. I have taken DA photos that did not include awards I was entitled to, which is a safer approach then wearing awards that may not be reflected in all of your records. I am very proud of my military service and when I reflect on it, awards don't enter the picture. You'll get razzed for doing so. DA photo doesnt need AF minor awards, some of which honestly are for mediocrity. The board will know if youre prior service AF. Plus, aside from major achievement awards or combat awards, once in the Army, no one will really care. But short answer.
