Do I wear uniform, or civilian jacket with medals?

My girlfriend's son leaves for Infantry OSUT next month and will graduate in May. My dilemma is: Do I wear my ASU's as a retiree, or should I just go civvies w/ jacket and awards. I'm a retired 11Z and meet height/weight standards.

I'd use the blazer with medals.... Just my preference. I know there have been several uniform changes since I've retired almost 10 years ago..... I suspect I'd get a lot of odd looks in my old uniform.

And I'll be sure to be clean shaven, even though the reg says a closely, neat trimmed beard is authorized.

I tend to be content with wearing my AF Retiree lapel pin on my suit jackets and blazers, but that's just my preference. As SMSgt Minister Gerald A. Thomas stated, both are appropriate.

I went to Medals of America and ordered Mini Ribbons. They are perfect for suit lapels.

Recommend miniature medals on civilian attire.
