In today's social media age companies do pay attention to it more after being hired than before because you can hide your profile from non friends viewing your profile but after you are hired like most of us we like the company FB then you are openings yourself up for companies media policy. I can admit that as a hiring manager I use all tools possible to get the best candidates. Hope that helps some.
