Do recruiters still pick recruits up and take them to processing center and such?

Ok I know there are some recruiters out there anyone know the answer. I know my recruiter can and picked me up and took me to MEPS to take tests and do appointments......just wondering it that is still done.

The son of a family friend just went to ADA school. They met at the recruiting station and the recruiters took him to MEPs. That bring up a different question - I went with him to the recruiter for his first couple of meetings. I wonder if recruiters like that or not?

I am a prior Recruiting Flight Chief and the answer really depends on the applicant and how much time a recruiter has. So sometimes they can and will and sometimes they cant.

My brother in law was picked up from his school and taken to MEPS.

When I went to MEPS, a little under three years ago, my recruiter did not take me. I drove myself there and back. He did, however, take me to the hotel I stayed at the night before I went to boot camp. I am sure that if I couldn't have taken myself, though, he would've taken me.

Mine took me in a govie when I was enlisting, but he took me in his personal car (which he said he wasn't supposed to do, I didn't complain because that thing was super swanky) when I was going to boot camp. When I put in for a transfer from reserve navy to regular a couple years ago, I had to drive myself. The new recruiter who worked with me (he replaced my original) said he wasn't even allowed to reimburse me for driving the 100 miles each way just trying to get to MEPS, which sucked because I was driving 80 on summer tires through slush at 4 AM trying to get there by 6.
