Do single E-5’s receive BAH at Fort Huachuca?

I will be PCSing soon to Fort Huachuca as a single E-5. Will there be barracks available for me or will I receive BAH?

The answer to this is "depending on the occupancy of the barracks and command post policy." As a single E5, you will live in the barracks, but if the barracks are occupied by a %, determined by the Garrison Commander, you may be able to request to live off-post and receive BAH.

I do not know if civilization has come to the area, but I had a Sergeant tell me back in the day, if you went AWOL they could see you going for 3 days. LOL

It all depends on the current state of things on base. It can vary weekly, monthly etc.

You’ll find out when you get there.

Only E-6 and above are off base or base housing for married. Barracks is most likely where you will end up as permanent party.

They give you time to prepare yourself for the dry air.
To prepare for UR APFT, you slowly run 1/4, 1/2, 1 mile and so on. Work out. You'll do fine.

As an E-5 you are allowed to live in the BAQ. It's UR choice, as long as you have transportation to UR Company. U need to be there for Alerts,
All Formation and PT.

At Ft. Huachuca single NCO's are not eligible for on post housing. They prefer you to live in the barracks. You can qualify for off post housing if you submit the paperwork to your 1SG. He can deny it if he doesn't think you deserve it.
