CPT Private RallyPoint Member 6973175 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Background: We have an SM who is coming off of AD that told us that they have 90 days to report to our unit. Our commander has &quot;encouraged&quot; us to find the regulation as this has come up for a few new soldiers and no one (including me) can seem to find it. Any ideas or is this just another PNN Special or Urban Legend? Do SMs have 90 days to report to their reserve unit after leaving Active Duty? 2021-05-13T17:35:54-04:00 CPT Private RallyPoint Member 6973175 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Background: We have an SM who is coming off of AD that told us that they have 90 days to report to our unit. I would be surprised if a reporting time is not written somewhere and your team is just not finding it. Maybe 635-200? There is a SFC Boyd (that I cannot tag) that will likely chime in and he is a great source of information. It starts on the first day of Reserve affiliation. For me, it was the day after I got off active. If you delay reporting and accumulating the points necessary for a good year, that can be dead time. Although the points will count towards an ultimate retirement, you&#39;ll get zero year towards the magic 20. I punched out in January but wasn&#39;t able to affiliate (report to) a unit for 2 months. So I had 10 months to accumulate enough points to make it a good year. I was going to wind up with two points shy but was able to barely make the finish line with a kind R-1 figuring out an ADSW for me. Be shrewd. Don&#39;t lose a good year. Thus, they take the 90 days.
