Do the Garmont T8 NFS 670 Lightweight boots live up to the hype?

Buying my first boots for Battle Assembly and on to CHBOLC.

Do the Garmont T8 NFS 670 Lightweight boots live up to the hype? does anyone have experience wearing them both garrison and field as advertised?

Im worried the focus is on comfort and not function. Do not want to get a couple weeks in and them not be what I really need.

Never worn this style/make. I usually go with Danner or Belleville. Both of those makes serve both comfort and function quite well.

Personally, never had them to try out.

Best bet when looking at something like this is to check out trusted review sites on the web. A quick Google search with the terms 'review Garmont T8 NFS 670' turned up these detailed write-ups.

Are you near a military post, Chaplain? I think it's best to go to clothing sales on post and physically try on whatever they have in stock. We all have different thoughts about what's comfortable/functional and they may not align with yours. Congrats on your commissioning direct to CPT!

I have two pairs that I cycle through and they are by far the best boot I have every owned. I have wide feet and I need good ankle support. Also as a 12B in a sapper unit we are light, always on the move and always rucking. This are great for that and for times when we are in post tooling around in those weird box things your all call "Buildings..." LOL... But seriously, field or office, these are amazing. I replace my boots about every 18 months for reference.

I wore both the lightweight and the regular during my time in 10th Mtn.
Absolutely loved both of them.
The lightweight ones dried fast, but with one big draw back, they suck on rocks. The sole was horrendous on slippery, hard surfaces. Other than that, well worth the money. In your case in particular, comfort is a big plus.
The regular garmonts were always a go to and in fact, I've been out for 2 years and still have a set.

I always wear the issue winter boots. The extra insulation is padding that makes them comfortable and prevents blisters.

I ordered both the NFS Lightweight and Bifida.
Both will be here Saturday from Amazon. Im going to try them both and see which one or if either wins.

Sir, I have been in nearly 15 years and have been purchasing these boots since 2015 and haven't looked back. Hands down, the Garmont NFS boots are worth every dollar and you will have little to no issue with their performance in terms of grip while performing your chaplain duties. What you will find is that different brands may be better to your particular comfort, but this boot is great. It is widely considered to be the longest-lasting sneaker-type boot. Others just wear out quicker. If you begin doing Air Assault operations and start fast-roping, then look elsewhere. It doesn't have the side grip you want for a rope in those situations.
