Do they do formation runs at air Assault school like they do at airborne?

Formation runs are the bane of my existence. I can do them but I hate them. I'm going through AA in January and Im just trying to prepare in any way I can. I've even got a very up to date Air Assault Manual I've read cover to cover twice.

Except for Day 0, we ran in formation every run day.

Formation runs are just a part of the Army. You'll run in formation at your unit and you'll run in formation while attending Army schools.

Formation runs are nothing like Airborne school, they're faster.

I wouldn't say its too fast, if you fall out though, you fail the course

I'd worry more about the O-Course than the runs. Try to be the first few to start the course, don't drift to the back, you'll just spend more time getting smoked between obstacles. With the runs, just keep up with the guy in front of you, you'll be fine.

Day one. Obstacle courses, then a four miler.
After that, you'll be doing formation runs.
Are you at Campbell or elsewhere?

yup! We did a few during my time there. We broke down by ability groups.

I only remember one formation run. The fallouts went home. I would call the physical piece of Air Assault more annoying than hard, but it's still a challenging course. How is your ruck time? Can you climb a rope?

A bit of unsolicited advice: if you can't handle some formation runs you probably shouldn't go. You'll be beat down by the end of it and you have to want to be there to graduate.

1988 When I went through Air Assault School Black Horse Fulda Germany They took the top 100 pt scores, I run a 1015 for two miles and I was having a hard time on the runs.
