As far as global policing, our country has law enforcement already, maybe if we would let them do their jobs and stop demonizing the whole force for the actions of such a small amount of bad seeds we wouldn't even need to bring up the idea of a global police force. I feel about as safe as I think I ever will in this country with the way it is right now and bringing in a bunch a blue helmets or any other global police (which you know will probably be more para-military) is only going to make me feel more unsafe to live here. We have our law enforcement and our military to protect this land, leave the other countries of this world the hell out of it. I suggest you investigate it more before trying to characterize it as a conspiracy. It's not a "global police force", and it's not designed to "increase local dependence on federal and international authorities". The initiative is designed to facilitate the sharing of ideas and best practices, and to increase coordination/collaboration among the different levels of law enforcement. Do you really want each level of law enforcement to fight terrorism in a vacuum? Do you really want each level of law enforcement to not learn from others' experiences? I certainly don't. We have a national police force in the forms of DHS, FBI, US Marshal Service, etc... Their mandates are to enforce Federal Laws, Enforce the law on Federal Lands, and to act when a crime crosses states. I know that is overly simplified. What the Federal Law Enforcement agencies are not mandated to do is enforce state and local laws. Here in Florida, we are about to have an open carry law pass. New York has highly restrictive gun laws. It is the right of each state to govern itself. So unless a state requested the assistance of the Federal Government and the United Nations, it would not fly. Every state has quirky state, county, and local ordinances that would make a global police force trying to enforce laws on American Soil difficult at best. It would require that the US institute one Federal Law that governs all states, and replaces state laws. That would violate states rights. There would be an uprising on a national level if the Federal Government tried to do that. I don't think that the Federal Government would try that. Not because of any belief that they would see it as wrong, but because it would weaken their ability to line their pockets. If the US Constitution won't keep them in check, their greed will. Someone needs to provide a glossary of terms. "Global Police Force" for example has an ominous tone to it. "International Cooperation" seems benign. But what do these things really mean in practice? Some appear to be willing to give them the best interpretation. Others fear the worse.

Sadly, I am inclined to fear the worse. Rather than attempt to explain myself (which would require an essay far longer than I'm willing to invest my time in) please allow me to suggest that you read an essay on "Justice and the Obama Justice Department" by Michael B. Mukasey, a former U.S. Attorney General, that was published in Imprimis, a publication of Hillsdale College. National law enforcement authorities? Simple. Because crime isn't limited by artificial boundaries. The same is true of international boundaries and international crime of all sorts, including terrorism, is growing. Thus, I see no problem with increased cooperation between agencies and, if need be, an international law enforcement agency. However, that being said, I would not accept it unless it were bound by American standards of jurisprudence and legal rights. That's a deal breaker...
