No, but the nice thing about prepping for the zombie apocalypse is that if you're ready for that then you're ready for just about any kind of catastrophic disaster that man or nature can throw your way.

The term "zombie" is commonly used to describe an uninformed and unprepared member of the general populace who, after a disaster or emergency, will be among those trying to take/steal from or mooch off of those who took the time to prepare for said disaster or emergency.

Given that context, it could happen.

But a bunch of undead people walking around seeking brains? You kidding me?

I don't believe the zombie portion, but a global pandemic has always been a source of anxiety for me. Something like the Spanish flu...where there is no cure, mass panic, and nothing you can do to save your loved ones. *shudder*

In the literal sense of "undead beings coming and devouring the living", no, but in the figurative we are well on the way. Look at all the people who wander through life, only going by what they have been told by their talking head of choice. That can be just as dangerous.

Now this is going to be fun.

I do not believe in the zombie apocalypse but it is always fun to talk to the people that do believe in it or the people who are prepping for it. Also, I have read a few books on the subject and one is a book I got from Harvard University, it is called International Politics and Zombies. This is actually a very interesting read due to it actually gives a different spin on the term zombie. It basically says that zombie does not have to mean man eating undead and it explains two possibilities of a zombie apocalypse.

Scenario 1: It is what everyone thinks it is and people start dying and military takes its precautions.

Scenario 2: Zombies are not what people think, trade and foreign policy starts to become affected, then integration of zombies into society to fix problems of foreign and domestic affairs due to zombies.

That is one of my favorite books due to the intellectual side of a zombie apocalypse instead of mindless eating undead. Very fun read as well. :)
