I have started over several times and it was the best thing for me. Once, I had a job and as my days off ended and it was almost time to go back to work, I would get plum sick just knowing I had to go back to that place in a matter of hours. So, I resigned. I had no job, very little money, and no idea where I was gonna live. I answered an ad for another job in a total different field and I loved it. You must be happy in your job or personal life. The thing is, before you start over, you need to own your part of the reason you are starting over in the first place - define it, and own it. Then, rethink what happened - don't just ask the question "What was I thinking?" - answer it! Then, release it - forgive yourself, forgive others - then, you will be ready to start over! <br />If you don't do these things, then you will likely need to start over many more times. Being in the Army so long and from a young age is kinda like the programming inmates go through in prison. We get used to a routine, and that routine becomes a part of us. We even start to like the predictability of it even unit to unit. So being out, while having it's perks to a point, has been a mentally testing time, and to cope, I find myself often reverting to my old self to make it through. By this, I come to work, do rotations and stretch, then get down and start pushin every hour. It's a way to make it through the day do a little PT, and tell myself that while the old me is "sorta" gone, who I was can still have a strong role in who I am today and tomorrow.
