No, I don't. This country has been stable through some very tough times for over 150 years.

What I do think is possible is that the increasing divide between blue and red states becomes an issue that is more than politics, but less than conflict. Low-level prejudicial and harassment type of conduct for opposing points of view could become the new normal. It is already pretty bad.
But civil war? No.

I dont think the issues such as all the racism, bigotry, crimes or anything else horrible going on have really changed much in the past decade. Its always been there but we have it shoved in our faces more because of social media. The more social media grows the more we hear about these things because thats all people talk about especially when it gets them ratings and/or attention. Everyone always says they can't believe this generation blah blah. Its always been there except the tinfoil hat loony toons now have the entire internet to preach to instantly instead of only their local populous or days to mail a letter. Everyone's opinion is shared at the speed of posting a damn meme or hiding behind a fake name so of course it seems like its gotten worse. Are things bad? Yes they are but they are under a million x powered scope thanks to the internet. It will always make you ask if it was a great thing or a bad thing. We can gain knowledge with the web at our finger tips but the idiots can spread their BS much faster to those too stupid to fact check.

I don't think we are headed for a civil war or a coup d'état, CPL Brian Clouser. I think (1) the people who advocate for such things are a fringe minority; and (2) the law of the land will stand, even if parts of it are unpopular for some.
