It's a good measure of my progress from time to time. I like to switch up approaches and try new things so every 4-6 weeks I'll test my 1RM to see if what I'm doing at the time is helping or hurting.

SGT (Join to see) I have over the years but honestly, unless you also track your sleep the night before, the things you are over the last 48 hours, stress levels, etc. it is hard to compare day to day. But if I check it 4 weeks apart, I can prepare the same way (essentially) each time and rule out other factors that might be affecting performance.

I'm with you except for having to track everything, though I understand it. If my singles, doubles, and triples are going up, I have a good idea what my 1RM is. I'm assuming it's just our difference in goals.
