Also with an arthritis in hip, squats and dead lifts are a no go. On the exercises that I do, I do 3 sets of 10 reps. The big three you listed can put a lot of weight on and most people will not have correct form. Focus more on 3RM. Strongman is a functional (farmer strength) where powerlifting is for explosive one time moves. The farmer carry is a great for strength training repition is done in strongman for all day strength some powerlifting can help but it may reduce your overall strength and doesn&#39;t hurt once in a while.
