Maybe not realistic, but desired. Here at RallyPoint we do see when someone visits our profile. It would be unrealistic to expect them (or any social media web site) to tell us when someone looks at our posts. That's where OPSEC comes into play. Each individual has an individual responsibility to check themselves when posting to social media web sites. Yes google etc... Do this for advertisement purposes. Our governments since 911 has been collecting mass data storage. It makes me feel personally violated but my safety and the safety of my child is more important than my feelings. If this mass collection of data is used to prevent terrorism or like we call it in the US " work place violence" then by all means proceed. Yes . . . not just by individuals . . . there are dozens of tracking companies that appear to be stealthily attached to nearly every website accessed . . . beyond the obvious tracking cookies . . . and direct following by more routinely obvious individual users . . . all seem to be gathering, correlating, and analyzing personally identifiable data. I wish there was an easier way to anonymize web access.
