We are proud to announce the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recently launched a telehealth initiative to stand up remote, virtual exam stations in some of the Nation’s most rural communities, where millions of Veterans might find it otherwise difficult to access the health care that they need.
Project ATLAS, or “Accessing Telehealth through Local Area Stations”—represents the powerful potential for large-scale innovation that can be produced through robust public-private partnerships, and could radically transform the future of patient care.

My last annual checkup was via the distant Global Meds platform, and it worked great. No more waiting for the Dr. to show up. They connect and your in business.

Full disclosure: I do hold a nominal amount of CSCO. I looked for the label while in CBOC. It really is a good system for face time. They do the labs in advance, and once they connect, the Dr. goes over you and your data and listens. The RN places the monitor(s) and he listens by headphones to thoracic etc. I joked that once they figured out a gun for the unit, we would all be out of work. No troops, no Vets, just techies. Then I thought of DARPA. I draw the line at distant colonoscopy, although others have been doing remote surgery for awhile.

I live in the 5th largest city in the U.S. and can't access my V.A. healthcare benefits. This story just pisses me off.

Tom,
Too make a difference, “Go up the food chain” as I suggested.
Park your a— outside the Hospital Administrstors door, & ask to speak to him/her. PROVIDED, you have exhausted all lower levels.
I’m not afraid to make waves, when Im getting slapped in the face up the Totem pole.
Good Luck Brother.....
