Defense Language Institute is where they train to learn a language you choose, as long as the language is considered a critical shortage language.Response by SGT Javier Silva made Oct 21 at 2020 3:53 PM2020-10-21T15:53:14-04:002020-10-21T15:53:14-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6425242<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You don't go to DLI just because you take the DLAB. You need to be in or going into a language dependent MOSResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 21 at 2020 3:57 PM2020-10-21T15:57:46-04:002020-10-21T15:57:46-04:00SSG Dale London6432282<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It depends on the needs of the army. If there is a significant shortage in, say, Arabic linguists and you want to study, say, Serbo-Croatian, you might find they will do the picking for you. On the other hand, if you pick another language that is also in shortage but not as undermanned as Arabic, you might get your choice.Response by SSG Dale London made Oct 23 at 2020 5:42 PM2020-10-23T17:42:56-04:002020-10-23T17:42:56-04:00Sgt Dennis Doty6448824<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was given first, second and third choices.
