Most of us get sick or injured at some point during our military careers. There have also been some horror stories about going to medical (Med Boards, disqualifications, etc). Do you typically go to medical or do you 'suck it up'?

Sucked it up, ate Motrin and drank lots of water. Now I reap the rewards of going balls to the wall and not getting fixed early. My advice; if you're hurt get attended to, so little things don't become big issues down the road.

I've sucked it up for 17 years, I think next year, I'll have to start documenting my issues!

All depends on what the issue was and if I was stateside or deployed. Deployed you don't really have a choice, unless something is broken or missing you go. Stateside I would only go if had something to do with... you know... I was on a ruck march and just as we were finishing I heard what sounded like a pop and I dropped to the ground. My NCO was like dude you're 50 ft from the end so I hobbled over and went to medical and turns out it was a distended testicle. Not much fun...

TSgt Joshua Duplin - Ha well he felt bad when he found out I was actually hurt, he thought I just tripped or fell over and I didn't say anything other than swearing when it happened.

SPC Willis: That was pretty close to what happened to me at Ft. Dix. While pushing myself out of the standup foxhole at the range, I put my left leg up to help get me out and I heard and felt a LOUD POP and fell over backwards. The Sgt came over and said what's wrong. I said I don't think I can walk back the one or two miles it was to the company. He says, "Oh...so you want to go on evening sick call?" I said, Yes, I guess I'd better. He say, "O.K. Walk back and go after chow." I did. When I got to see someone at the hospital, they slapped an ankle-to-hip cast on me for 60 days. I was transferred to a profile platoon. While transferring, the Sgt who told me walk back said, "Sorry to hear you F'ed up O'Brien."
