My family's plan is to follow my lead. I'm not too worried about Tsunamis since I don't live near the coast, but I have handled flash flooding fairly well. Hurricanes and tornadoes I could live through. Never experienced an earthquake before, but my biggest issue for those would be pulling some glass items down from the high places in my house. I've never dealt with a forest fire before either, but I literally live within walking distance of my fire department, so if there was a danger, I should know long before I have to evacuate. Riots would be easy. I live in a primarily military neighborhood. I think we'd be able to maintain order and defend our neighborhood in that eventuality. Massive prolonged power outage I lived through once in the winter of 08 when an ice storm hit most of New England. My power was out for 21 days. Put extra blankets on the bed and covered up the doors and windows in blankets to ensure no heat was escaping. Not too worried about not having power. There's plenty of things you can eat without electricity and books and board games for entertainment. In the event of disease, the only thing I can think of is I live within a 10 minute drive of 2 different hospitals. In the event of war such as an invading force, we have enough supplies to bunker ourselves down for a couple months. I also live close to a military base which could provide shelter though I'd be hesitant to use it because it could also be a target. In the event of nuclear strike, it really all depends on where the strike happens. Despite living on the east coast, I don't live close enough to one of the most likely targets which would include New York, Boston, Washington DC. So there is a slight possibility we could survive. More than likely it'll be kiss your butt goodbye.

I keep enough food, water, medical supplies and home protection methods to withstand most things that catch people unprepared. I keep my vehicle good and serviced so I don't need to worry about vehicle failure in my time of need. The only thing I really need to do is upgrade to a larger vehicle because my family has grown since I first bought it.
