We were on lock down in 2012/13. Also, get in Senior Hallway ASAP. All in all it's not difficult, just tedious and time consuming. The course is divided into four parts.
-Design (Autocad and manual drafting)
-Basic Surveying
-Materials Testing (Remove the word dirt from your vocabulary right now. It's SOIL)
-Uniques (Advanced surveying and airfield survey)

None of the sections are notably difficult, outside of parts of materials testing and uniques somewhat. Study for what's called the Tango Killer, the Nuclear Densometer test, and pretty much all of uniques. Really though, it's not hard.

Outside of that, don't piss off the sergeants. You'll be fine. Also don't make friends with the 12Rs. The school is not hard but auto cad and soils are your toughest sections. There really isn't any preparing for it just take good notes and it should all be open book test. I went through it in 2011 so you may be useing an updated version of auto cad. It's 17 and a half weeks. It's just like any other school. Listen, pay attention and put the effort forward. It is a rather long course for AIT, and not long enough to quite learn everything. Take good notes and drive on Response by SPC Cliff Wofford made Dec 12 at 2016 12:43 AM 2016-12-12T00:43:16-05:00 2016-12-12T00:43:16-05:00 PFC Private RallyPoint Member 2360163

Listen and take notes and you will be fine academically. Stay out of trouble on the weekends and you wont mind it here. Graduate in 6 weeks and then off to Hawaii!
