The board meets in March. Say you pass your ncoes in September of that same year. Do you get pinned after completion of that school or do you have to wait until March of the next year? Then there is usually a promotion ceremony (company formation) where the orders are published (read aloud) and you are then "officially pinned" by someone in your Chain of Command. More importantly, ensure you are getting paid at your new grade (check the effective date on the orders).Response by SFC John Hill made Aug 10 at 2016 3:38 PM2016-08-10T15:38:02-04:002016-08-10T15:38:02-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member1798657<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'd say wait to get pinned there's nothing like being pinned in front of your peers and in front of your leadership.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 11 at 2016 7:35 PM2016-08-11T19:35:42-04:002016-08-11T19:35:42-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member1798666<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>In the Army, when soldiers meet the cutoff scores around the 20th or so of the month, they wait until the 1st of the next month and the orders are printed, then they usually have a ceremony and pin the soldier to the next rankResponse by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 11 at 2016 7:38 PM2016-08-11T19:38:28-04:002016-08-11T19:38:28-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member1798669<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm not saying I'm going to pin myself and go around the c.o.c.
