My Mom! She gave me my first Ruger Mark iV .22 pistol for my 16th birthday. At 75-yrs old, she has a CC and packs a Glock-17. Due to her limited retirement income, I buy her ammo... just a little way that I can "give back."

I know many mothers that would support this actually. My mother, my wife, several of my friends wives. I think teachers themselves should be armed in the schools. It's been shown that Gun Free Zones are not working. Time to go the other direction...

That was in 2015!

And if Republicans actually believed any of this, the problem would have been solved in 2017-2018 when the GOP controlled both houses of Congress and the White House.

But instead the Republicans in Congress were more concerned about making sure that the "outsider" in the White House didn't get anything he could call a win, so they refused to pass any pro-gun legislation despite having a solid majority in both houses.

Of course that genius strategy cost them their majorities in the 2018 midterm elections and had a lot to do with losing the White House in 2020.

The big question now is whether they learned anything from that debacle -- Personally I'm betting that they didn't learn anything at all and will repeat the same stupidity if they win in 2024.
