Oath Keepers Shaken Up As Members Leave In Protest of Corrupt Leadership

A major rift has occurred within the Oath Keepers movement, causing many to flee the organization and join, start, or reorganize splinter groups. The defections occurred when the national leadership reportedly pulled support for the armed march in Ferguson. Former defense contractor Sam Andrews, the organizer of the march, doesn’t care about the national leadership’s reservations, and he’s not alone.

Andrews was a member of the Oath Keepers and ran a tactical team called the “YETIs.” He said that after Oath Keepers’ national leadership indicated they were uncomfortable with the appearance of directly confronting law enforcement with an armed march in Ferguson, he withdrew from the organization. When asked if the march would still happen, he responded with one word....

This organization was all over the news a few weeks back as several of their members entered the city of Ferguson. We even had a discussion here on RallyPoint on if their actions were okay or not. Personally, I feel groups like this carry the same sort of questionable cloud that Blackwater did in Iraq. This people see themselves as agumenttees to local law and national law and defense institutions. A majority of their members are prior service members of the military and law enforcement agencies. However, they carry no credentials to function within those roles now.

I think the reason for the leaders of this organization to pull their support of the march is a direct reflection on the heat they caught a few weeks ago when their actions were brought up for debate. While they might have the greatest of intentions, its the way they carry out those intentions that draw the heat.

I know oathkeepers and I kinda support the main premise - however there are too many militia type individuals in the organisation that is not someone I would like to fight next to.
