SGT Private RallyPoint Member 3831193 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If I had a ranger tab as enlisted, got out for a period of time, then came back in as a commissioned officer, would I still maintain my ranger tab or would I have to go back to ranger school? Do you maintain your Ranger tab when you commission to officer? 2018-07-27T16:45:55-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 3831193 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If I had a ranger tab as enlisted, got out for a period of time, then came back in as a commissioned officer, would I still maintain my ranger tab or would I have to go back to ranger school? You lose it if you salute a 1LT when you are a 2LT. And lots of people will try and trick you by saying stuff like &quot;a 1LT is a senior officer&quot; or &quot;it&#39;s in the reg&quot; but don&#39;t fall for it. ;) Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 27 at 2018 6:30 PM 2018-07-27T18:30:51-04:00 2018-07-27T18:30:51-04:00 CPT Private RallyPoint Member 3831541 <div class="images-v2-count-1"><div class="content-picture image-v2-number-1" id="image-255592"> <div class="social_icons social-buttons-on-image"> <a href='https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fdo-you-maintain-your-ranger-tab-when-you-commission-to-officer%3Futm_source%3DFacebook%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_campaign%3DShare%20to%20facebook' target="_blank" class='social-share-button facebook-share-button'><i class="fa fa-facebook-f"></i></a> <a href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=Do+you+maintain+your+Ranger+tab+when+you+commission+to+officer%3F&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fdo-you-maintain-your-ranger-tab-when-you-commission-to-officer&amp;via=RallyPoint" target="_blank" class="social-share-button twitter-custom-share-button"><i class="fa fa-twitter"></i></a> <a href="mailto:?subject=Check this out on RallyPoint!&body=Hi, I thought you would find this interesting:%0D%0ADo you maintain your Ranger tab when you commission to officer?%0D%0A %0D%0AHere is the link: https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/do-you-maintain-your-ranger-tab-when-you-commission-to-officer" target="_blank" class="social-share-button email-share-button"><i class="fa fa-envelope"></i></a> </div> <a class="fancybox" rel="e421dd767f60da2757d25eddcc83022a" href="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/pictures/images/000/255/592/for_gallery_v2/ab08e9e9.jpg"><img src="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/pictures/images/000/255/592/large_v3/ab08e9e9.jpg" alt="Ab08e9e9" /></a></div></div>Once you earn it, it&#39;s yours: Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 27 at 2018 7:29 PM 2018-07-27T19:29:20-04:00 2018-07-27T19:29:20-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 3831707 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>That was my original thought, however I met an O3 today that said he was enlisted infantry in regiment during his first term, then got out, came back and commissioned. He presented it in a way to &quot;demand respect&quot; however he did not have a Ranger tab or a deployment Scroll. and also did not maintain the presents that I know others to established. What little I know of regiment, you don&#39;t stick around very long with out proving yourself. If anything, it may mean more, getting it as an enlisted soldier than an officer.
