I try to make decisions based on SMART processes.<br />I think realistic and timely are perhaps the most critical. Decisions made on unrealistic premises or too late are never good.<br />Repeatable processes seem to make the most sense for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely goal realization. <br />Marriage, birth of children, death of loved one don't fit within the SMARTY parameters cleanly. I have applied this to my financial planning to eliminate my debt and so far I have been able to pay off 2 debts completely and 2/3 of another so using this methodology seems to work well.
