I already have the score needed for the MOS I want. I just want to know if I have to retake the test since it would be more than 2 years since I last took it.Do you need to retake the asvab in order to reclass?2018-09-07T08:10:37-04:00PVT Private RallyPoint Member3944090<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Do you have to retake the asvab to reclass when re-enlisting? If you don't meet the ASVAB line scores for the new MOS is there a waiver process? If you meet all the ASVAB line scores or a waiver is acceptable if you fall short, then you wouldn't have to retake the ASVAB.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 7 at 2018 8:27 AM2018-09-07T08:27:38-04:002018-09-07T08:27:38-04:001SG Timothy Trewin3944475<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Depends on the MOS and whether it requires line scores that you lack.Response by 1SG Timothy Trewin made Sep 7 at 2018 10:53 AM2018-09-07T10:53:11-04:002018-09-07T10:53:11-04:00SGT Tony Clifford3944723<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Only if you wouldn't qualify for the MOS you seek to reclassify to, with your current scores.<br /> Let's say you have a 125 GT score. You would qualify for every job that the army has. On the other hand, a score of 90 might limit your options. When you're in the reup window talk to your career counselor. He or she should be able to tell you what is needed to reclassify.Response by SGT Tony Clifford made Sep 7 at 2018 12:39 PM2018-09-07T12:39:12-04:002018-09-07T12:39:12-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member3945379<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My understanding is that your ASVAB is good for 2 years if you're NOT under contract. If you're currently enlisted though, it's my understanding that the scores are good indefinitely. <br /><br />It never hurts to try and improve it though. It could open more doors for you depending on what you might want to do.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 7 at 2018 4:42 PM2018-09-07T16:42:58-04:002018-09-07T16:42:58-04:002018-09-07T08:10:37-04:00
