I do not like velcro because it wears out and too many times have we all "velcroed ourselves" to another ACU jacket with the guy standing/sitting next to us. One time I even took off another unit patch as I walked by another Soldier. Had I not notice this, he would have wondered where his patch went. I too would have wondered how I ended up with two unit patches.Response by CPT Jacob Swartout made Apr 25 at 2014 10:29 PM2014-04-25T22:29:46-04:002014-04-25T22:29:46-04:00SFC Dr. Joseph Finck, BS, MA, DSS111934

Sew on. Velcro wears out, leading to name tapes/rank slipping and becoming crooked, curled, or rumpled.

2. Constantly swapping out stuff for washes means your name tapes, etc. don't wear at the same rate as your uniform, which leads to an uneven appearance.

3. Velcro has a very bulky, unprofessional appearance.

4. Velcro catches on all sorts of things it shouldn't (other people's uniforms, your other patches as you move around, etc).Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 20 at 2014 4:19 PM2014-10-20T16:19:35-04:002014-10-20T16:19:35-04:00SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member285486

I prefer the sew on, just because i dont have to look for stuff.....But then i like BDU's you could tell who took pride in there Uniform and who just threw them on and went to work....Just my thought..Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 20 at 2014 4:20 PM2014-10-20T16:20:14-04:002014-10-20T16:20:14-04:00SPC Elijah J.
