By God's grace I try to read a scripture verses or more per day SPC Margaret Higgins. The long periods when I didn't were generally recovering from surgical complications when I was in la-la land. Even when I was out-of-it God still contacted me through the stupor of medication when he knows I needed to hear something from Him.

LTC Stephen F. - LTC Ford, with your testimony I am once again humbled before God, My Heavenly Father. In March of 2004 I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given less than a year to live. God told me to go back to work and I did. A nine hour surgery in April had me in the hospital for 9 days. In July I started a 24/7 IV chemotherapy for 6 months. I had a black belt pack with a small pump and a small IV bag we changed out every Tuesday to the port in my chest. I had only 5 Fortune 100 customers and ALL of them wanted to see the contents of my belt pack so it was laid on 5 different conference room tables along with the 8' of IV cord. In December God commanded me to lie on my couch. The doctors almost had to kill me as they killed the cancer cells in my body.
In the Spring of 2005 the monthly CT scans detected another tumor on the nerve going into my T3 disc. The surgeons reopened the incision on my chest that ran from my sternum to my groin. The tumor on my nerve was peeled off but 1" of the nerve sheath came off with it. I was told I would experience horrible pain for as long as I lived. They removed my gall bladder and the vagus nerve in my stomach and sewed the remaining portion of my pancreas INSIDE my stomach. I have not experienced a hunger signal since then, I have NO appetite. As a weightlifter I weighed 256 pounds and now, I weigh 187 and at 6'5" I am slender. 6 more surgeries. The incision became infected in the hospital during the second surgery and they ended up sewing two rubber meshes across my abdomen to keep the incision closed. Jesus appeared at my side in the hospital and told me if I remained faithful that God Our Father would heal me I and would be OK.
For 8 years I took 1200MG of morphine daily, 60MG of hydrocodone orally and a 100MCH Fentanyl patch. On September 11, 2012 I went in the hospital and received a "pain pump" implant. Yes, same day as Benghazi. Six inch incision in lower left abdomen for the pump, internal IV tubing around my left side and a 3" vertical incision for the IV tube to be inserted and run up to the T3 disc where a diffuser tip flows 24/7 onto the exposed nerve. I can take up to 5 shots for what they call "break-through pain" in a 24 hour period. In November of 2013 I was "released from clinic" at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
God kept his promise. 96% of pancreatic cancer patients die within one year, 99% by year 3 and by year 5 there are maybe a couple. In return, my wife and I perform many ministries for our church. I am "The Voice of the Church". I found a service provider and set everything up. Anyone can call me with a prayer request and within minutes a voice message I record goes out, a text or an email, according to what each member chose. I made up the forms, handed them out and educated the congregation. Everyone loves it. Much better than the old "human chain" which always broke down within 4-5 calls of a 250 member congregation. It also succumbed to the old schoolyard game of "Gossip" where a circle of friends whisper into the next persons' ear what they just heard. Something always got added or subtracted.
God is awesome as he sits on His Throne, Jesus sits at his Right Hand. Ours is a jealous God and he CAN be vengeful. So I pray to him many times every day and we have a long talk every night. I read the Holy Bible every day in my walk with my Heavenly Father. This is my fourth read of The Bible and every time I learn something new or have new perspectives. Our "works" are important and so is Faith. I just want the chance to reach the narrow walk to the narrow gate and to meet my Heavenly Father. I try so hard to live my life as My Father" wants during this very, very short time on Earth. I want to spend Eternity in Heaven, singing his praises.

SGT Rick Ash - thank you for sharing a wonderful testimony of how our Lord & Savior directs us. When we do what he tells us He demonstrates His faithfulness. I have read through the Bible over 15 times. Because His word is living everytimes I read through His Wird even though I have read the text before he gives me new insight and deeper revelation of particular passes which never ceases to amaze me.
Gentlemen I recommend you read through Rick's testimony. LTC Stephen C. CW5 (Join to see) CW5 Charlie Poulton SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL SSG James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" SSgt (Join to see) SSgt (Join to see) TSgt John Temblador, PI, CIPA SGT Forrest Stewart SPC (Join to see)

SGT Rick Ash - A Wonderful testimony, Rick! You Are living your life the way your Father wants; as far as I can tell- so I really don't think you have to worry about not being able to sing His praises in Heaven. A big, Huge bear hug to you; after a long; painful, and Godly journey.
-With My Love in Him, Margaret

LTC Stephen F. - WOW! Your stories are simply AMAZING!!!
I have had miracles happen to me: Once I was Raging across "fog" at GOD. (I was in my bed; during the day.) Then, I entered through a small "channel", and lay upon two "hands"; both with thumbs on top of each other- and both with palms facing upward.
After that, I proceeded to become encased by a "French bread dough shaped" Peace that passeth(ed) All Understanding. I was in there for a span of time (My time, during all of this- was actually timeless.). I felt totally at peace; and Wonderful!
Then I had to leave "the womb"; and returned to my bed; through the same "channel" into which I had entered.
My psychiatrist did not believe this was a miracle; my Rector friend-did.

I try to. Sometimes I do put it off until the next day. And then I read, or try to read a lot of scriptures at the same time. I Love reading the scriptures.

I've got a Daily Bible Verse App on my iPad that I try to keep up with every day. Other than that I have been working on reading through my Bible, never have fully read it, primarily the Old Testament and in a prayer a long time ago I asked God if it was his will that I not be taken from this Earth until I could read the whole thing. I don't want that blessing to turn into a curse so I started myself up again. Only just finished Genesis so I have a long way to go but at least I have a goal and something to look forward to. That and since I am only just recently really starting to explore my faith I figure I need to read through it, Old and New Testament. So many people including pastors bring up lines of scripture to suit their own interests so I want to see for myself what exactly the Good Book says.

SrA Matthew Knight, I believe that what you are attempting to do-read the whole Bible-is very admirable.
I as well, want to know exactly what the Bible-in fact-says. GOD says not to change it "a jot or a tittle."
Good luck, and many prayers to you; Matthew.
