IF you miss being a mentor to the core of your soul....I challenge you to find a Civil Air Patrol Squadron, or Sea Cadets for our sailors or a Young Marines unit and VOLUNTEER. I was recently propositioned about setting up a military studies program at a school that helps kids get caught up where home-schooling parents failed because of incompetence teaching their kids, kids from broken families-for many reasons, where the regular school districts gave up on them and they have fallen behind. May or may not have pay, has to cover all branches, and have to develop training plan for 1 hour a day or 1 hour a week. My question, what should a program focus on and where is a good place to start? I know how to write lesson plans for military and employee training, but geez, I am grasping for a start point and direction on this one. There are all sorts of worthy groups in which we can help mold and influence young people in positive ways.
