No. We don't conscript people. Why punish someone for the actions of their parent? We all signed up knowing it was a possibility.

If their Children are In The service, they should accompany Their Deploying unit to The Combat Zone... No Special favors On Normal Rotations...
That does Not mean Draft The Kids into service, or send them or their Unit out of Rotation into Combat Zones ...

I personally feel that we need to send any and all this nations children who meet the physical requierments to be in the military to the military on graduation from high school. This would teach them the same things we all learned when we joined, respect, common sense, and duty to those around us. Now I would give them a chance to chose which branch of the service, as well as what MOS they wanted, but if this is not done within 6 mouths of graduating then they will be place where ever they are need most.

reason for my asking, we have many conflicts since our last legally declared war as per the constitution. However, even though we all signed the line of our own free volition, doesn't mean our leaders should needlessly send our sons and daughters into war. A leader, a GOOD leader will weigh the pluses and minuses of a war. I have a conscience that would make me REALLY think about the need to send someone's son(s) and Daughter(s) to a war.

I guess as someone stated in another question: " The only ones against War are the ones who fight them."

These damned politicians are all talk for the most part BLAH BLAH BLAH - and out for their own greeds and needs, they aint no way they gonna allow their skin in the game. Their kids serve? - Hell no! While there are on occassion the sons and daughters of politicians serving, most WILL NOT allow those entitled, spoiled ass brats to serve whatsoever. Can you imaging their manicured little hands pulling KP and filling sand bags.....HA! yeah, smh, that aint gonna happen, daddy might have to fly over and pull their entitled behinds back to the rear with the gear. Now, there are some that are actually doing the do so you cannot take it away from those that walk the walk!

What used to be "for the people", is now "what can the people do for me" and it is one dang shame, $250,000 for a 17 minute speech, give me a f'n break, I wish I could point at a Soldier in formation and gift that money to their family, these politicians suck and are so far away from reality, they suck!

As long as we have a volunteer force then no they should not have to serve in the Military. Now if there was a draft and their number was called, yes they should serve. Do I see them serving under that condition, no. There are too many deferments that they could easily get just like anyone else for that matter. Keep it a volunteer force. Doc Gilly
