I recently contacted my Congressman because due to budget constraints, the Armed MP that normally patrols the property during business hours is no longer able too. I think this puts not only our service members and veterans safety at risk, but also their families. Especially since there's a major Air Force Base nearby and the PX/Commissary's close proximity to a major International Airport. What are your thoughts? Do you think it should be a high priority for budget money to be set aside to allow for the payment of an Armed MP at these facilities?Do you think all PX/Commissaries should have security?2017-10-12T17:19:28-04:00SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member2993820<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I live in Beaver County, PA and we have a PX/Commissary about 10 minutes from me. If there was a patrol all the bad guys would have to do is wait until the patrol leaves then proceed. Is there a dedicated QRF who will respond? You say there are lots of vets in the area, is there anyway a sort of over watch can be formed with these guys and family members? Getting some type of "armed over watch" signs, kind of like Neighborhood Watch will also make the bad guys stop and wonder. Yes a patrol is great, I am just looking at some other options to pick up the slack.Response by SGM Mikel Dawson made Oct 12 at 2017 7:49 PM2017-10-12T19:49:05-04:002017-10-12T19:49:05-04:00PO1 William "Chip" Nagel2994156<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="139752" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/139752-12b-combat-engineer-lynchburg-1o-richmond">SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member</a> A Reasonable Question in these Times.
