Do you think confirming Lynch was a positive step for our justice system?

My beliefe is that she is just another yes man for Obama... During her confirmation hearing she answered almost every question the same way Eric Holder would, showing that she has no intent on upholdimg the law, or holding those in high places accountable for breaking the law.. The office of Attorney General knows no party... It knows the law and is supposed to enforce the law, however with Loretta Lynch's confirmation it was more than obvious that enforcing law was not really on her "to-do" list.....

The advantage is, "She's not Eric Holder." This means she will have to get acquainted, consolidate her base, and basically "spin up" over the coming months before she can do anything.

However, she's a New York lawyer, cut from what is essentially the same cloth as Eric Holder.

The AG is the Chief LEO of the US for the President. He enforces presidential policy. That said, it doesn't really matter who the AG is. It matters who the President is. You will never get an AG that doesn't match the President's vision for the country.

I think you have to accept that "anyone" nominated by the President is essentially a "yes man" to that President (otherwise they wouldn't be appointed by the President in the first place). So ... what really matters is the character of the person doing the appointing (i.e., the President).

No! The "content of her character" is beyond suspicion. While it's the president's choice who to nominate, it's still the US Constitution (Art. II Sec. 2) that gives the Senate "Advice and Consent" authority. Cutting deals to get concessions when someone should not be considered is despicable conduct.
