The point of this question is to find out how many of you have even broached the topic with your friends and family. Those of us with even a modicum of training know how to handle most standard US weapons. But what about European or other foreign pistols and rifles? What are the weapon safety checks do you use and teach?

When I was growing up, my parents didn't own guns but our neighbors did. Since I played with those children my parents insisted that I learn about gun safety. And the neighboring parents had no problem whatsoever teaching me that skill on behalf of my parents.
