If I was buried and it was a military funeral, I would want only representatin of my brothers and sisters in uniform. That way, I can be assured that there will be no political agenda, media spin, or unwanted anybody. Just stetsons and spurs. That's all I really needed hear. Let the President go and mourn the loss of his friend like any other decent human being would do under similar circumstances. Beyond the fact that it's been reported that President Obama had a longstanding relationship with Rev. Clementa Pinckney there's also the political angle, and not the one I think most are considering. Rev. Pinckney was also a state senator, and therefore his death at the hands of a politically motivated shooter was an assassination. President Obama attended the funeral of a friend and assassinated elected official, so bugger off anyone who claims that his attendance was unwarranted.
