It seems like they want you to choose between the military or civilian career when you have both and they should shut the f up and think good things when we go to training or to ask to go to training or if we get mobilized. I was actually happy to get mobilized to get away from my civilian job and to go on active duty for almost 3 years and I start a new career in Canada because of the employer asking me to choose between the Army National Guard or my career. Only thing we get is a message from our 2 star wishing all the veterans who served our country or are still serving Happy Veterans Day. I don't really think anyone is really going to walk up to me and say Happy Veterans Day, But I will tell my father who served two tours in Korea, proud he with us today, I know he hates to talk about it but I can see it in his eye that it was a bad place and he is not proud to be veteran, I know this, My case I am, with my tours in Iraq and Kuwait and Desert Storm, I someday can tell my little girl about what I've been through for now, she just know I served.

STEPHENS' Response by SFC William Stephens A. The first job I had, I would always take Veteran's Day, or the Marine Corps Birthday off. Oddly, the other supervisor always would say, you rate it more than I do, you did twenty and are a combat vet. So he would work, as one of us had to be there. I would send emails out to Honor all the Veteran's and wish all the Marines Happy Birthday, and get a few replies back, but nothing really from the corporation…although the office would acknowledge it.
